ABOUT AW

Authored Wellbeing is a multi-faceted wellness space in which healing, art, self, and community converge. It rests on the belief that all beings possess the power to author their own wellbeing, hence its name, while upholding the body as an intelligent source for information, art as a healing modality, community support as integral, and the unearthing, developing, and claiming of selfhood as fundamental to optimizing one’s holistic health and wellness. Here, individual story and selfhood are honored as distinct pieces of artistry that are inspired and influenced by a past, present, and future that is uniquely one’s own. Here, people are healing creatively while also creatively healing. At its core, AW draws inspiration from the womb — a space in which beings can push back, press up against, receive, connect, and form. It offers a palette of integrative modalities including but not limited to health coaching, Reiki, Acupressure, movement exploration, self-study, and bodywork. Currently, AW is primarily an online presence with hopes of inhabiting a physical space sometime in the future.

The definition of wellness lies within you — be the author of your wellbeing.

Jana has always been innately drawn to healing, movement, and story. She began dancing at the age of 3 and has yet to cease honoring her body as her life’s instrument and greatest source of knowledge and artistry. She has learned within the paradigms of physical therapy, reiki, Movement Fundamentals®, and completed undergraduate studies in biology and psychology. She feels most grounded when her being is creative — whether in dance, poetry, painting, photography, and when she is in communion with those she holds close. As founder of AW, she coalesces her master's degree in Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching with her own story, artistry, and the desire to amplify selfhood and individual story within health and healing to optimize wellbeing. Planting the seeds of AW in these concepts, she hopes to foster a wellness environment that ensures individuals feel safe sharing their voices with(in) the world and feel safe being seen, authentically. She aspires to be a keeper of sacred stories — the beautifully unending, in-the-works telling of everything you are and dream to be.
